The mountains in the Two Medicine area of Glacier National Park are known as the "Backbone of the World" to the Blackfeet Indians, who used the area primarily for vision quest and spirit journeys. I can definitely relate, such a serene peaceful feeling when hiking to any of the many lakes and waterfalls.

Running Eagle Falls Two Medicine River

The shear peaks rise dramatically from the rolling plains. Several small peaceful lakes in the area are joined by a well worn network of trails. Through the landscape of unequaled beauty you can make your way over the peaks and down the valleys to countless destinations.

Silver Staircase Falls, Southern Boundery of Glacier National Park

Wildlife abound in this area, wind swept grass covered hills are prime feeding grounds for the mountain goats and long horned sheep. Grizzly and black bears alike meander the mountains of Glacier National Park, calling this area home. When hiking these hills always keep in mind that the animals you may encounter, are truly wild and in most cases will seldom bother the hikers, unless provoked or feel threatened in some manner.

Mount Sinopah from Two Medicine Lake

One of my favorite places to hike or camp, the Two Medicine Valley is one of least visited in the park.
