The Event at Rebecca Farms 2011

The Event, an annual equestrian triathlon began 10 years ago by rider and owner Rebecca Broussard. The road was long and hard and though Rebecca lost her battle with cancer this year, the event has received worldwide acclaim as one of the best of its type in the United States and one of only two west of the Mississippi River.

The Event consists of three equestrian competitions, including cross-country jumping, show jumping and dressage. Starting July 21, more than 450 riders began the competition on the 200-acre site, which features eight arenas, 14 cross-country courses and four water jumping courses.

The Event at Rebecca Farm is acclaimed to be one of the best in the country and many riders use it to advance to other events, including the Olympics, being held next year in London.
